In the summer of 2003 Jenna J went on the T.I.M.E for Christ
Medical Caravan down to Mexico for 2.5 weeks. This caravan, based out of San Antonio, was
started by a doctor and his wife who wanted to use their medical knowledge and gifts to
help the people of Mexico. They have continued this caravan for about 20 years now, making
two trips a year. They round-up doctors, nurses, surgeons, dentists, pharmacists,
translators, evangelists, support staff, kitchen staff and many more people to share their
time and talents with the people of Mexico. The caravanís supplies are all donated
materials from individuals and local hospitals who desire to help in any way they can.
They load everything up into buses, trailers, vans, and RVís and drive to their
destination. This last summer we drove over 27 hours into Mexico through the hot, barren
deserts and into the warm tropical rainforest region up in the mountains in the state of
Puebla (we were about an hour east of Mexico City). Once we had arrived, we set everything
up in the school we were staying in.
