| Reverend Janiece Redman is the pastor appointed to serve
the First United Methodist Church
on Redwood Falls. Pastor Jan grew up on a farm in
south central Minnesota and enjoyed the quiet-yet-inspiring
life that country living can bring! Yet, having taught high
school English in a St. Paul suburb for several years,
Pastor Jan claims that city life has its wonderful
qualities, too! Prior to her appointment
in Redwood Falls , Rev. Redman
served at
Cross Roads Community United
Methodist Church in Spicer, MN and United Methodist
churches in a 4-church parish on the Iron Range (Chisholm,
Kelly Lake, Nashwauk, and Pengilly) for 2 years while
attending United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities in
New Brighton where she received her Master's Degree in
Divinity. Following that, Rev. Redman served a cooperative
parish in south central Minnesota (Blooming Grove,
Morristown, Cannonville, and Waterville), serving Blooming
Grove and Waterville as a 2-point charge for several years
prior to being appointed to Spicer.
Pastor Jan's passions in ministry include preaching,
creative worship design, spiritual formation through small
groups, adult education, inclusion of all of God's children
in the life of the church, and hospitality ministry. Her
hobbies include piano, singing, traveling, knitting,
gardening, and her pet cat Camille! And one of Pastor Jan's
proudest claims is being aunt to the greatest nieces and
nephews in the world!!!
A lifelong Methodist, Pastor Jan appreciates Methodism
for the Wesleyan teachings that help us to better grasp an
understanding of God's grace as well as a better
understanding of how we are to live to grow in holiness.
